Festina
Festina is a Spanish watchmaking brand, was originally founded in Switzerland in 1902 and later established its base in Barcelona during the Second World War. Since its acquisition, the brand has become part of Festina Lotus S.A., an international group specializing in the production and marketing of affordable analog and smartwatches.
Distributed in over 90 countries across five continents, Festina has nine subsidiaries in France, Germany, Italy, Benelux, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Poland, and Chile. The brand claims to sell approximately 5 million watches annually.
Historically, Festina was established in 1902 by the Stüdi family in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. In 1935, the founding family passed the brand to entrepreneur Willy Burkhard von Wilhelm. The company relocated to Barcelona, Spain, during World War II under the direction of Adolf Hoffmann. In 1975, entrepreneur Georges Uhlmann, a prominent figure in the Spanish, French, and Italian markets, acquired the company. In 1984, Spanish businessman Miguel Rodríguez purchased the Festina brand and all its rights, founding the Festina-Lotus group.
